We’re Outta Here!
Tomorrow morning, right around 3 a.m., we’ll be starting off on our 10 day, crazy-busy Southern California (and Nevada and Arizona) vacation. We’re mostly packed, I’m mostly ready to spend 8 hours on a plane with Bink, Hubby is mostly ready to sneak some noise canceling headphones in his carry on bag.
Over the next week and half we’ll be doing some combination of beaches, amusement parks, and hours of hanging out in a minivan to get all around. Right now, I think the tentative schedule looks like this:
I’ve got my sippy cup, I’m ready for vacation!
- Saturday–Arrive in Los Angeles around 11 am (PSD) and head to Santa Monica to spend some time on the beach
- Sunday–Disneyland! I’m just *slightly* excited to see Bink’s reactions seeing his favorite characters wandering around in real life.
- Monday–Las Vegas! Checking out the casino decor and wandering the strip during the day. Then at night my Aunt is taking the kids to the fancy hotel pool while Hubby and I have dinner and see Penn & Teller (second row seats!).
- Tuesday–Grand Canyon. I’m not going to lie. I’m a nervous wreck. Bink isn’t getting out of his stroller and I might not even let anyone else touch the stroller. Hubby is excited to see the glass viewing area that goes over the canyon. The thought of it makes my stomach do flip-flops (however, that could also be the morning sickness).
- Wednesday–A little more Grand Canyon and then back to CA! Those portable DVD players will be getting a lot of use in the car.
- Thursday to Sunday–I’m headed to BlogHer* and my best friend, Crystal, is coming out to join me! We’ve got lots of fun parties and sessions lined up, plus we’ll be celebrating her 30th birthday while we’re there. While I’m at BlogHer, the rest of the crew will be seeing Legoland, Universal Studios, and Sea World. I’ll join them Sunday for Day 2 of Legoland.
- Monday–Conan O’Brien! Hubby and I were lucky enough to get picked from the ticket lottery. My Aunt is taking the kids to the LA Zoo while we’re at the show.
- Tuesday–8 more hours on the plane with Bink!
*In case you were thinking I’d be resting and relaxing at BlogHer, here’s what my latest version of my schedule looks like…
Oh and this is kind of funny, Hubby and I are planning to take the day after we get back off from work to get unpacked and do laundry (and sleep). I actually decided I would take Thursday and Friday too. Quiet time, nowhere to be. And then Bink’s daycare provider took those two days off, so… so much for that idea.

While we’re on vacation, I’m lining up some of my favorite past posts to share with you all. Depending on our schedule, I may try to do a quick post or two with trip updates.
Regardless, I’ll definitely be updating Facebook and Twitter from my phone. Things should get back to normal starting the week of August 15th. See you then!
