Binky’s Birthday Bonanza!
Well, Binky’s birthday is actually not for another month and a half, but I’ve just started really trying to get things together for it. Don’t let me fool you. I’d picked the theme and designed the invites months ago. But then I sat around on my tush playing on Twitter and not doing anything about it. And then it was mid-April and I realized I’d better get back to it.
We decided on a Guitar Hero theme for the birthday party. I was going to something a little different and we have used a guitar to take all of Binky’s monthly pictures (which one day I really will update here, I swear).
I scoured the internet looking for invitations that looked like tickets and eventually combined a bunch of ideas to create this:

Since Bink is such a polite baby and would surely want to thank his guests for any birthday gifts he received, I also made him personalized thank you cards:

Here are some of the adorable decorations I found:

Inflatable Flame Guitar, $2.99 from Oriental Trading

Inflatable Red Guitar, $2.99 from Oriental Trading
I think we’ll hang a few of these from the ceiling (or trees if we are outside) and give them to the kids instead of goody bags. I think there may be a grand total of 5 kids at the party (including K, 2 of which are babies) so we didn’t want to do a lot or do things that are choking hazards.

Rock Star Cake Side Sheets, $9.99 from eCrater

Edible Image Cake Sheet, $3.05 from Chef Tools
Hubby’s sister is planning on making Bink’s birthday cake since she is super talented at cake design, but left to my own devices, I would have bought these cake wraps and topper.

Daddy’s Little Thresher Onesie, $18.99 from My Baby Rocks
I didn’t actually buy this onsie, but I was quite tempted to. Hubby would have been quite happy since he loves Heavy Metal. I did buy Bink an adorable red tee-shirt with guitars on it from Babies R Us, but can’t seem to find it online. You’ll just have to wait for pictures on his big day!
So, that’s it. Bink’s first birthday extravaganza! Now all I have to do it actually order the stuff! Off to do some online shopping!
Have you seen any cute Guitar Hero (Rock Band, musical, etc.) party stuff I could add to my shopping list?

Your kid is going to be the coolest kid!!
This is a great theme idea. I usually do a joint party for my son and daughter since they’re birthdays are so close (five days apart). But as they get older, it becomes more challenging finding themes for them to share. I’m thinking this might be it for this year!
Thanks!!

Am I invited? I love this theme…so unique. I really like the inflatable red guitar. I agree that if you bought several of these, they could double as party decorations and gift items for the children attending the party.
Great ideas!
